MJF Interiors, head quarters in Dublin serve customers globally, delivering fit out & contract services to offices, residential and the hospitality sector.
In collaboration with LUCA Architecture, our team were tasked with the lighting design & supply for their new three story flagship showroom off Baggot Street, Dublin 2. The clients vision was to create a mixed use building of showrooms, private conference rooms and meeting spaces across 3 floors with an external terrace, all requiring an element of architectural and decorative lighting. This showroom isn’t just to showcase furniture and their glazing products but a space for projects to be developed, a space to bring their A&D community together to bring their projects from the design stage to reality, while also having functional working space for employees.
To achieve this we used a number of lighting solutions from our brand partners.
Karizma Luce was utilised for the general track lighting with some feature products by Flos, including the impressive FLOS Noctambule LED Suspension, consisting of interconnecting glass modules. This pendant was the perfect feature light for over the stairway and the high ceiling allowed for this.
LED Strip for accent lighting was provided by Proled, this can be seen on the feature stairs & also behind the bar on the ground floor.
LED lighting was used throughout helping reduce the overall energy consumption when occupied. The high efficiency of LED and the specific use of the correct optics ensured illumination directly where it was required. A high CRI value of the general 48V DC Track spots ensured a very high colour rendering which is essential in a showroom setting. Allowing for a DALI controllable lighting package in both meeting rooms also ensures lighting is set to the correct levels, meaning the products do not function at 100% output thus saving more energy and prolonging the lifetime of each luminaire.
Our team were thrilled with the outcome of this project and wish MJF Interiors the best of luck with their new space.
