Wells Fargo, Coopers Cross, Dublin
A contemporary workplace designed around light, comfort and connection
Wells Fargo has established its European Union hub, Wells Fargo Bank International, in Dublin for many years. As the team expanded, the business relocated from its long-standing home in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) to a new 26,000 sq ft workplace at Building One, Coopers Cross in Dublin’s North Docklands.
Home to a team of more than 200 employees, the new workplace brings together focused workspaces, meeting rooms, collaborative areas, hospitality-style spaces and an outdoor terrace. Dlight were proud to be the lighting team on the project, supplying a carefully selected range of architectural, decorative and exterior lighting solutions to complement the interior design.
Lighting that supports a modern workplace
The lighting scheme combines discreet architectural lighting with carefully positioned decorative fittings, creating a workplace that feels professional and contemporary while remaining warm and welcoming.
A restrained palette of natural timber, neutral finishes and dark detailing provides the backdrop, allowing the lighting to define different areas and create visual interest throughout the space. Linear illumination, recessed spotlights and decorative wall and table lighting work together to provide both functional illumination and atmosphere.
Meeting rooms
The main boardroom is defined by a long, elegant linear lighting detail running above the meeting table, complemented by Karizma Luce Dea Amata recessed luminaires.
The clean lines of the white profile lighting sit comfortably within the bright, minimal ceiling, providing an even layer of illumination across the large meeting table while maintaining the calm aesthetic of the room. The recessed Dea Amata fittings add focused illumination where required without competing with the architecture.
The result is a meeting environment that feels bright, refined and comfortable for both presentations and collaborative discussions.
Hospitality and breakout spaces
Throughout the breakout and hospitality areas, decorative lighting introduces a softer character.
Vibia Top wall-mounted luminaires provide distinctive circular light sources against the textured walls, creating a warm focal point within the seating areas. These are complemented by Karizma Luce Caro spotlights, which provide discreet directional illumination.
The combination of decorative and architectural lighting helps distinguish informal spaces from the more traditional work areas, supporting a variety of ways of working and social interaction.
Corridors and circulation
The circulation spaces use a combination of recessed track lighting and Dea Juno spotlights to provide focused illumination along the darker timber-clad walls.
The directional nature of the fittings allows artwork and architectural details to be highlighted while maintaining comfortable levels of general illumination. Track-mounted spotlights also provide flexibility, making them particularly suited to spaces where displays and artwork may evolve over time.
The result is a corridor that feels considered rather than purely functional, with lighting contributing to the identity and character of the workplace.
A terrace for work and wellbeing
The external terrace extends the workplace beyond the building envelope, creating an attractive setting for informal meetings, breaks and social interaction.
Here, Rovasi Terra IP68 inground uplights provide robust exterior illumination, highlighting planting and architectural elements while creating pools of light across the terrace after dark along with Proled Flex Tube.
The layered approach gives the terrace a welcoming evening atmosphere while ensuring the space remains practical and easy to navigate.
Reception and shared spaces
The reception area continues the project’s balance of natural materials, warm tones and contemporary detailing.
Vibia Palma adds a decorative element to the interior, bringing a softer, more tactile quality to the reception environment. Elsewhere, linear and recessed lighting maintain the clean architectural language established throughout the workplace.
Together, these elements create a cohesive lighting identity from arrival through to the meeting, work and social spaces.
A cohesive lighting identity
The Wells Fargo workplace at Coopers Cross demonstrates how a considered combination of architectural and decorative lighting can support a contemporary corporate environment.
From the precision of the meeting-room lighting to the warmth of the hospitality spaces and the layered illumination of the external terrace, each element has been selected to complement the architecture and interior design.
Dlight were delighted to contribute to the project as part of the lighting team, supplying the lighting solutions that helped bring this new Wells Fargo Dublin office to life.
