Project Overview

Located on St. Margaret’s Road in Finglas, Dublin, the Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) Services Centre serves as the operational heart of GNI’s activities in the Dublin region. This comprehensive facility houses customer service operations, technical training areas, and administrative offices. Reflecting GNI’s commitment to sustainability, the centre plays a key role in supporting Ireland’s national goals for a decarbonised energy network.

Dlight was approached to design a bespoke lighting structure that visually reflects the branding of GNI’s ‘Pathway to a Net Zero Carbon Network’ 2026 initiative. In close collaboration with brand partner Lightnet, our engineering team developed a custom lighting solution using the highly adaptable Liquid Line G3 system. This system was chosen for its flexibility and its ability to echo the shapes and symbolism found in GNI’s net zero campaign visuals.

The Liquid Line product family is highly flexible and can be shaped to follow the curves, angles, and layout of any interior architecture. This adaptability, made possible through in-house production and custom configuration, ensures seamless integration with the built environment and delivers a refined, immersive lighting experience.

The Liquid Line G3 System features a 60mm suspended profile and offers a direct-indirect light distribution.

It includes a versatile set of linear elements, vertically and horizontally curved modules and an innovative connector system. Each luminaire is designed as a stand-alone unit with an integrated driver and can be effortlessly linked to form nearly any lighting configuration. Thanks to Lightnet’s intelligent, software-driven production process, even small-batch custom curves are manufactured with millimetre precision. The luminaire body is crafted from a single piece of 60mm aluminium profile with smooth, seamless bends and is available in a range of standard finishes; white, silver, graphite, black, champagne or copper-coated. Lighting options include microprismatic screens for glare control in workspaces and satin opal diffusers for general ambient illumination.

In addition to the custom feature lighting, the project was supplemented with technical lighting solutions from trusted brand partners Ledluks and Karizma Luce. Ledluks ILO50 linear luminaires were strategically installed in task areas to deliver high-efficiency, glare-controlled illumination for focused work. For accent and directional lighting, Karizma Luce’s Caro track spots provided both visual precision and flexibility. The Array pendant by Vibia was selected as a feature element, providing soft, ambient illumination in the set-down areas.
