Located in the former Dominican Church, the Athy Library opened its doors on 3 May 2018.

This €3.75 million project, jointly funded by Kildare County Council and the Irish Government, has transformed the historic church into a bright, modern, and welcoming space for the local community.

Dlight was appointed to design and supply the lighting for the project.

Our approach focused on creating an atmosphere that supports the library’s diverse functions — serving as a hub for education, culture, information, and civic engagement.

To achieve this, we specified the Lightnet Ringo Star G1 with direct light distribution throughout the main areas, ensuring both visual comfort and architectural harmony within the restored interior.
