The Johnstown Estate’s newly reimagined multipurpose conference facility, The Forde Suites, has been designed to accommodate events of every scale, from intimate gatherings to large conferences with up to 1,000 delegates. The space offers bright, flexible areas with moveable walls, a private entrance and reception, The Orangery, a striking cocktail bar and garden terrace, a grand ballroom and four additional meeting rooms.

To bring the design vision to life, Dlight’s design team collaborated closely with Millimetre to create a lighting scheme that reflects the luxury and elegance of the wider hotel. Statement pieces from Castro Lighting, Eichholtz and Heathfield & Co were selected showcasing finishes in crystal, alabaster and antique brass.

For the foyer and Orangery, Karizma Luce Dea Amata downlights were installed, featuring a white housing with gold inner reflector, adding subtle sophistication.

In the main function spaces, high-quality Rovasi downlights on a DALI control system were chosen to allow precise dimming and ambience control. Their trimless appearance ensures a seamless ceiling finish.

To complete the scheme, bespoke chandeliers measuring 2m x 2m were designed specifically for the large function rooms. Finished in brushed gold with glass rods and a double LED band, these striking pieces provide both scale and drama, perfectly complementing the grandeur of the space.
