Project Overview
We’re proud to have been a collaborative contributor to the transformation of the Mercantile Hotel Dublin, a project that merges historical charm with modern sophistication.
Led by the talented interior design team at Millimetre Design, the refurbishment of the Mercantile Hotel was inspired by 19th-century commerce and travel. The result is a captivating interior that honours Dublin’s rich heritage while offering a luxurious, contemporary experience for today’s hotel guest.
Dlight worked closely with the design team to bring their vision to life, supplying bespoke and high-performance lighting solutions throughout the hotel. Our tailored approach enhances the ambience, elevates guest comfort and highlights the distinctive character of each space.
Each guest room has been curated as a stylish sanctuary in the heart of the city. Bespoke headboard wall lights in brushed brass with frosted rods and an integrated light switch at the base offers a soft, ambient glow.
A matching desk lamp ensures a cohesive look. Proled Flex Strip lighting in very warm white (2400K) is discreetly mounted behind headboards, adding a welcoming atmosphere.
Sleek, steel-framed bathroom doors with frosted glass, supplied by our sister company Porta Steel Doors, further enhance the rooms’ refined aesthetic.
In the corridors, to support the hotel’s timeless aesthetic and functional needs, we selected Dimora adjustable downlights in black by Karizma Luce, offering versatile and focused lighting. The restricted ceiling depth was a key factor in specifying this model, as it has a minimal installation depth of just 64mm. Recessed Flex Strips by Proled were housed in M-Line Drywall Linear profiles and finished in a bespoke RAL 5008, colour matched to the ceiling for a seamless integration.
For safe navigation and aesthetic consistency, corridors and stairwells were fitted with Eclipse marker lights from Flos in a sleek deep anthracite finish, along with Proled Flex Strip seamlessly integrated into the handrails for added safety and elegance.
We’re delighted to have partnered on a project that celebrates history while embracing the now, and sets a new standard for boutique luxury in Dublin.
